Castle School have over 200 staff and pupils and manual wooden doors in one of the main corridors of the building had become tired and worn. The school wanted to replace these manual doors with automatic swing doors allowing for greater ease of use for pupils.

The school originally wanted a double leaf automatic swing door however our KONE sales person took the time to look at the problem facing the school and recommended a large single leaf swing door  solution as it is more cost effective and user friendly; having only one moving leaf. It also allows for a more secure locking system which was important to the school as they need access control for the students.

KONE also installed a battery back up in the door ensuring that it would open and stay open for the duration of a fire alarm or mains power failure to allow safe and easy evacuation.
