KONE’s aim is to be an expert in transporting people in and between buildings smoothly, efficiently, and in a safe manner without waiting. Our annual People Flow day is an important part of gaining a deeper insight into what this means in practice. People Flow Day is designed to bring us closer to end users and our customers. Employee teams act as researchers, talking to customers, interviewing the public, making on-site observations, and completing questionnaires. Closely studying how, where, and why people move in buildings during a typical weekday helps the teams gather valuable first-hand information on both the user experience and the customer experience.
People Flow Day 2011 took place in October in over 30 countries. Participants from KONE paid special attention to the accessibility challenges faced by different user groups, such as wheelchair users, those with visual impairments, senior citizens, people in a hurry, and families with young children.
