The difference between KONE’s sales and contributions paid to suppliers represents added value, which is distributed to various stakeholders. The largest of these stakeholder groups in terms of distributed value are employees (wages and salaries), shareholders (profit distribution), and the public sector (taxes and other contributions). The remainder – 214 MEUR for the 2011 financial year – is used to develop and grow the business.
