Before calling

What to do if the elevator, escalator or autowalk stops?

In some cases, simple and fast checks are enough to put the equipment back into operation and save you from what could otherwise have been a chargeable call.

Before you call...

Confirm that there is a problem, particularly if you hear about it second hand.

Check all of the push buttons in the lift car to ensure none are stuck.

Check all key switches to be sure they're in their normal operating positions.

Check for doorway obstructions. This can include foreign matter in door sill grooves or objects blocking the doors.

Be sure you have power from your local supply authority. Have a qualified person check to see if there is a tripped breaker on the main power supply.
