For property Owners and Managers the following requirements should be included in the door component of your maintenance plans:
Inspection and maintenance frequency
Minimum frequency for maintenance inspections of doors covered by the standard is once every 4 months or in line with manufacturers recommendations which often specify quarterly services.
Inspection procedure
The maintenance process specified by the standard incorporates 9 key areas to be checked as part of each service including the control functions, safety devices, and battery backup systems.
Service report
Clause E5 details the requirement for service reports that include 9 key pieces of information for future reference. Ensure you receive a report that contains the person and organisation that completed the service, the service date, confirmation of the correct function of sensors and safety devices, and a record of any defects found.
Record keeping
Records of each service, repair or inspection are to be kept in a dedicated log available to an authorised agency on request.
Roller Shutters and Electric Gates
