KONE offers wide-ranging work opportunities for students including local Apprenticeships and traineeships as well as an International Trainee Program.
We provide a number of exciting career pathways, ranging from Australian Apprenticeships in Electrotechnology through to Traineeships in areas such as Administration and Business.
All KONE apprentices and trainees are indentured under the Australian Apprenticeship scheme, the benefits are,

- Paid work and structured training that can be on-the-job, off-the-job or a combination of both.
- Existing skills and prior experience can be recognised and course credit granted, potentially reducing formal training time.
- A pathway from school to work.
In addition all KONE apprentices and trainees:
- Attend a TAFE college, either on 'block release' or on a regular day each week. Training is ‘Competency based’ which means you can complete your training faster if you reach the required skills level.
- Attend KONE Training Workshops designed to develop and enhance the skills and knowledge appropriate to their trade.
- Receive on-the-job training in the areas applicable to their trade category. They move through a series of tasks applicable to their increasing skills and knowledge. People are scheduled through areas to undertake a range of tasks to increase their skills and knowledge
Apprentices and Trainees who have successfully completed the relevant trade course or traineeship and attained the required standards of the trade or traineeship during the period of training will be presented with a nationally recognised qualification by the State Training Board in the state where they are based and trained.
Base entry requirements are;
- you must be over 15 years of age
- you must have completed Year 10 at time of employment, with passes in Mathematics, Science and English. minimum Year 11 is desirable; and,
- applicants are required to undergo and pass a medical examination
