The order covers the supply and installation of 2 of KONE’s newly released next generation MonoSpace Exclusive lifts, which are 30% more energy efficient than the previous model. KONE were chosen for this luxurious hotel environment based upon the energy efficient credentials of their new MonoSpace lifts and the wide range of finishes offered. Luxury and quality are at the forefront of the developers needs and the wide choice of innovative and attractive lift interiors offered by KONE meant that the lifts were able to fit seamlessly with the interior design style of the building. KONE have commissioned a one off unique bronze anodised finish for landing entrances to co ordinate effortlessly with the buildings hard wood timber panelling.
The 1906 grade 2 listed building was originally the HQ of North Eastern railways and is an iconic landmark in York city centre. Cedar Court is carefully converting the building retaining the existing architecture and many of the buildings original features.
The hotel is due to open in spring 2010.
