The Westfield Group is an internally managed, vertically integrated shopping centre group undertaking ownership, development, design, construction, funds/asset managements, property managements, leasing and marketing activities, employing in excess of 5,000 staff worldwide.
Westfield Derby was the Group’s first development within the UK. Westfield contacted KONE (due to an existing relationship with KONE US) and KONE happily assisted. Westfield went out to tender, however KONE won the contract because we had the best products, processes and people in place for their requirements. KONE supplied a competitive quote and provided a proactive team of experts that were able to take the initiative, and work in the best interests of the client. KONE also provided new equipment to major retailers/department stores located in the shopping centre.
KONE successfully participated in the regeneration of Derby via the Westfield Derby redevelopment. The job finished on time and within budget with excellent client feedback. This success provided KONE repeat business and allowed KONE to build a solid partnership with Westfield.
