Solution
Tytyri high-rise elevator laboratory
KONE's Tytyri Elevator R & D center in Lohja, Finland, is an elevator test laboratory situated in a limestone mine. The mine provides an ideal testing environment below the surface of the earth.
Tytyri constitutes the only mine shaft in the world where elevator speeds up to 17 m/s (56 ft/s) can be tested. A vast R & D facility extends 333 metres (1090 ft) below the surface of the earth.
Advanced elevator research takes place in a living underground community with an intricate network of shafts, transportation routes and tunnels. This network enables the safe and efficient installation of elevator testing equipment.
