KONE is present in around 50 countries worldwide. It has eight production units in all main markets and seven global R&D centers. KONE's head office is based in Helsinki in Finland.
KONE Distributor Operations, KDI, was established in 1998 to make KONE products and services available in countries where KONE Elevators Ltd. is not directly present; cooperating with 25 Authorized Distributors in 2008.
KDI acts as the interface between the distributor and KONE organization, provides distributors with required sales and marketing tools, logistic services, training and technical support and if required, in cooperation with distributor, takes total responsibility of projects involving international developers or contractors.
