Since KONE China was set up, it has always been full of energy and activity. I have grown and developed along with KONE over the past 12 years. In my job, I monitor the trends in the Chinese market, as well as our competitors’ activities on products, prices, places, promotions etc. I also provide analysis reports for management decision-making.
One of the many exciting and challenging experiences I have had while working at KONE was applying for a “Manufacturing License” for KONE China some years ago. In order to regulate the elevator manufacturing industry, the Chinese Central Government asked all elevator manufacturing companies and component suppliers to apply for a new license with stricter requirements than before.
Learning from challenges
As the leader of this project, I arranged the type testing, internal audit, updating of quality documents, external audit and official evaluation. I also arranged application materials preparation and delivery to related national bureaus. The final approval came through in one month.
The key factors of our success were the cooperation and strong support of every department involved with the project. This was a project from which I learned a great deal - for example time management, communication skills and managerial skills.
