Some people have reportedly received packages in the mail, allegedly from KONE, saying that the recipient has won a lottery. Some of the packages include what appears to be a fraudulent check to “pay the taxes on the winnings.”
The checks are not from KONE. KONE is not now nor has it ever been associated with such a contest or lottery, nor has it authorized any other company or individual to use KONE’s name or trademarks in this manner.
Any individual who receives such a packet of information is advised to disregard the notice and to contact law enforcement. KONE will cooperate with law enforcement officials to identify, apprehend and prosecute the individual or individuals responsible for these actions.
