KONE sera propriétaire à 40 % de Giant-Kone, et Giant Elevator sera propriétaire à 60 %. L’accord comprend une option pour KONE : la possibilité d’augmenter sa participation à plus de 50 % à une date ultérieure.
Zheijiang Giant Elevator, avec des ventes annuelles de 18 millions d’Euros, est une des plus grandes sociétés d’ascenseurs. Elle emploie 620 personnes dans 10 régions différentes du pays. Giant installe 1100 unités par an et a un parc à l’entretien de 2500 ascenseurs. Ses sièges sociaux sont situés à Nanxun, Huzhou City, dans la Province de Zheijang, où la société a également une nouvelle usine. Nanxun est à environ 100 kilomètres de Shanghai. Toutes les opérations ascenseurs et escaliers de Giant seront transférées dans la nouvelle co-entreprise.
L’association Giant-Kone donnera accès à KONE à de nouveaux segments de marché et à une capacité de production supplémentaire pour un marché chinois à la croissance rapide. Bien que
la co-entreprise soit indépendante administrativement des opérations actuelles de KONE Chine, des synergies entre KONE Chine et Giant Kone seront créées pour toute la valeur ajoutée, depuis les approvisionnements et la production de composants jusqu’aux ventes. Les clients locaux bénéficieront du réseau étendu de la vente et de la gamme de produits. La finalisation de cet accord se fera après approbation des autorités compétentes.
KONE Corporation and Giant Elevator Co. Ltd of China have agreed to form an independent joint venture company: Giant Kone Elevator Company Ltd. KONE will own 40 percent of Giant-Kone, and Giant Elevator will own 60 percent. The agreement includes an option for KONE to increase its shareholding to more than 50 percent at a later date.
Giant Elevator, with annual net sales of EUR 18 million, is one of the largest national elevator companies in China. It installs 1,100 units annually and has a total service base of 2,500 elevators. Giant Elevator employs 620 people in 10 locations around the country. Its headquarters is located in Nanxun, Huzhou City, Zheijang Province, where the company also has a new factory. Nanxun is approximately 100 kilometers from Shanghai. All of Giant’s elevator and escalator business operations will be transferred to the new joint venture.

Finalization of the joint-venture agreement will follow approval by the appropriate authorities.
