Debenhams is one of the United Kingdom’s leadingdepartment stores, providing one-stop shopping for millions of customers. To ensure shoppers have anenjoyable, hassle-free experience, a reliable and efficient system of elevators, escalators, and doors is required.
As one of the UK’s most popular retailers, Debenhams needs to keep people flowing through its stores as comfortably and efficiently as possible, while also staying dedicated to reducing its carbon footprint. Debenhams also wants to upgrade their stores to consistent standards nationwide. KONE will provide both new equipment and modernization in order to meet this goal.
KONE’s primary tasks were to:
-Modernize the equipment in busy stores causing minimum disturbance to the customers-Provide a tailor-made maintenance solution for the entire chain-Help reduce Debenhams’s carbon footprint with energy-efficient solutions
Working together for long-term energy efficiency
Long-term relationship, long-term solutionHaving first been impressed by KONE’s proactive maintenance of its escalators, Debenhams contracted KONE to take care of the chain’s entire escalator, elevator, and door servicing andmodernization requirements. One of the principal advantages offered by the new agreement is that it enables both companies to work more closely together to reduce inefficient practices.Tailor-made maintenanceKONE set up a tailor-made maintenance agreement for Debenhams and established a national account manager to serve as a single point of contact for Debenhams. “With these sorts of accounts, you really get to know what the customer needs,” says Anthony Brogan, KONE national account manager for Debenhams.
