The building

The Q1 Tower project was developed by Sunland Group Ltd. The slim tapering tower resembles a rocket. The 80-story building, completed in 2005, rises to 323 meters (1060 ft).

The solution

Eleven KONE elevators serve over 500 residential units and various amenities. Nine KONE Alta™ elevators serve the residential floors, two of them at a speed of 9 m/s (1800 fpm). These are currently the world’s fastest apartment tower elevators. One KONE MonoSpace® elevator serves the car park and another shuttles between the top two floors. One of the observation deck elevators was used as a jump lift to speed up installation. The KONE Alta™ elevator has helped KONE gain a strong foothold in the high-rise market.
