KONE Wins Two Major Orders in Australia

KONE won an order to supply and install all elevators for the “North Bridge” project, located in the Brisbane Central Business District. Rising over 140 meters, the building will be equipped with 15 KONE Alta™ custom elevators and 2 KONE MonoSpace® Plus elevators traveling to speeds of up to 7 m/s.

Construction for the 37-story high-rise building has already started and is scheduled to be completed in early 2009. The building is being built by Hutchinson Builders and is owned by Ross Nielson Properties.

KONE was also awarded an order to supply and install all elevators in the Southern Cross West Tower project. Located in the heart of the Melbourne Central Business District, this 92-meter building will be owned and operated by Multiplex Facilities Management and occupied by Australia Post. KONE will supply 13 KONE Alta™ custom elevators traveling at speeds of up to 5 m/s for this project.

Construction of the building has also begun and is scheduled to be completed by early 2009. This order follows the successful completion of stage one of the project, the Southern Cross East Tower, which was also built and managed by Multiplex Facilities Management.
