Largest MonoSpace® Contract in U.S. History

Press Release Published 20/06/2002

KONE, United States has booked the order to provide 30 KONE MonoSpace® elevators with glass-paneled cars in glass shafts for 13 light rail stations and their parking facilities in Denver, Colorado's TREX metro transportation system.

This infrastructure expansion project is part of the evolution from Denver's aging, outdated public transportation system to a modern, integrated network of highway and light rail systems. Kiewit, dba Southeast Corridor Constructors awarded the contract to KONE on the basis of a KONE MonoSpace® solution worked out over many months by KONE in conjunction with renowned architectural firm HNTB and elevator consultants LBA. KONE MonoSpace® was selected because its energy-saving benefits and machine-room-less application best met the project objectives for efficiency, quality operation and aesthetic design.
