“The schedulewas tough. Thehandover tookplacewhile

constructionwas still ongoing. Numerous contractors

were involved, and they kept changing – as a result,

wehad toworkwithelevator shaftsof varying statesof

readiness. By focusingattentiononovercomingdifficulties,

we finished the installation on time,” says Pronikov.

With acoustics designedbyMüller-BBMofMunich,

the concert hall offers a crispbalance of sound

between the singers andorchestra pit, which canbe

raised and lowered to achieve the optimum levels for

every production. Clearly, elevator noise is the last

thing audienceswish tohear during a classical concert.

“The architects specified that all equipment near the

stagemust be as silent as possible. In addition to our

standard low-noise solutions, extra soundproofingwas

achieved through shaft-in-shaft solutions designed for

double sound absorption. We also supplied isolated

brackets to reduce vibration. KONE’s presence in the

building is virtually inaudible,” says Samkovich.
