We have identified five development programs to help the company to meet its goals, build on its strengths, and tackle development needs. The programs are Customer Experience, Employee Engagement, Innovative Solutions for People Flow®, Service Leadership, and Delivery Chain Excellence.
These development programs, along with KONE’s commitment to safety, quality, and simplification, form the core of KONE’s responsibility work.
In our Corporate responsibility report 2011, we focus on topics listed below.

Energy efficiency
Buildings consume around 40% of the world’s energy, and elevators and escalators account for 2–10% of that power. Improving the energy efficiency of our products will decrease the environmental impact of buildings.

Logistics is responsible for 38% of our greenhouse gas emissions – the single biggest contributor to our carbon footprint. We optimize our delivery chain and use distribution models that take eco-efficiency into account.
