KONE EcoDisc™

KONE EcoDisc™ is a good example of a KONE innovation that contributes to sustainable development. Its low-friction, gearless construction results in extremely low levels of wear and reduces energy consumption by half compared with a similar geared installation. It requires no oil, reducing the fire risk as well as the environmental impact. Its peak starting current is 30-40 percent of that of equivalent hydraulic and traction units, which results in savings on fusing and power supply.
