Due to it's unique and ground breaking construction, the radiant heat levels around the fireflex roller shutter door drop, from 65kw sq metre to an astonishing 2.7 kw sq metre, means that combustible materials can be stored half a metre away from a 1200 oC inferno, increasing floor space and reducing risk and break down of fire compartmentation. Fire fighters can safely tackle the blaze right next to the door, and anyone unfortunate enough to blocked without an immediate exit can safely walk past the roller shutter, without the radiant heat being as dangerous to them as the fire itself.
Safety brakes
With any form of motor driven door, all fire resistant roller shutters are fitted with safety brakes with a suited ration that does not affect the controlled operation of the shutter. Safety is of extreme importance when complying with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations.
Safety edge
The opto-electronic safety edge is a self-monitoring system tested against EN954-1 for the control and EN 1790-2 for the sensors. A constantly switching signal between the transmitter & receiver is monitored to ensure the system is functioning correctly. The system is designed for stop/return operation with isolation of the edge (from the motor 5th limit) before it hits the floor.
Operating safety limits
Operating safety limits for added safety, prevents over run of the door in both open and close direction. All controls feature automatic change over to dead man control should automatic controls malfunction.
