Lisle, Ill.-- On December 14th, students at Hunt Club Elementary School learned the importance of safely riding elevators and escalators as part of the national Safe-T Rider program presented by KONE Inc., one of the world’s leading elevator and escalator companies.
The Safe-T Rider program is a fun, interactive elevator and escalator safety awareness program geared toward grade school children. Since KONE began working with the Safe-T Rider program in January 2009, the company has reached nearly 13,000 children throughout the U.S. and Canada.
“At KONE, safety is always our number one priority,” said JJ Loew, Director of Sales Development, KONE Americas. “It is core to our business to manufacture safe vertical transportation solutions, but it is equally important for us to educate the users of our equipment on safe riding, especially our youngest riders.”
The Safe-T Rider program, which was developed by the Elevator Escalator Safety Foundation, was introduced to the U.S. in 1991 and Canada in 1993, and has reached over 6 million children, parents and teachers.
