Why add an elevator to your existing building?

Ready your building for a smart future

A retrofit elevator enhances your building's value, making it more appealing to potential buyers and tenants while significantly improving accessibility. Small elevators improve quality of life by making it easier for people to move safely within the building, enabling older residents to stay at home longer, and ensuring everyone can access upper floors with ease.

    Unlock accessibility for all users

Adding an elevator provides people and goods with secure access to all floors. Accessibility is improved with high-contrast panels and intuitive signalization, making wayfinding easier for everyone. Wider doors and more space inside the car accommodate wheelchairs, scooters, and strollers, while automated elevator calls reduce waiting times.

    Attract and retain new tenants

Improved accessibility makes your building environment inviting to families, seniors and people using mobility aids. A new, modern elevator provides a soft and quiet ride experience that is comfortable and safe. New digital services such as KONE Elevator Call from your mobile adds convenience for users.

    Increase your building's value

New elevators enhance your property's appeal, adding a touch of luxury on top of the improved access to floors for people and goods. They can complement your building's design, seamlessly blending functionality with style. Predictive maintenance ensures the best care for a long and smooth lifetime of the elevator.

How KONE AddNew works

Two ways to add an elevator to your building

KONE AddNew is an elevator and/or shaft solution that can be installed in almost any building. The size and shape of your stairwell will determine whether your elevator will be installed inside or outside.

  • Residential building stairs and elevator

    Inside your building's stairwell

We can install a small elevator either inside the stairwell with the stairs on either side, in the middle of the staircase, or partly replacing the staircase.

  • Elevator installed outside a building

    Outside your building exterior wall

We can install a small elevator using a pre-assembled shaft fixed to an exterior wall. Because the shaft is pre-assembled then lifted into place, this can save time and money.
