KONE wins order to equip the ‘Arbor’ office building at Bankside Yards, London

 KONE Corporation, a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry, has won an order to supply a suite of People Flow® solutions, including 15 custom-made KONE elevators and escalators, for the new ‘Arbor’ office building at Western Yards, phase one of the Bankside Yards mixed-use development in London.

Located along the South Bank of the river Thames between Blackfriars Bridge and the Tate Modern museum and built above historic railway arches, the 20-story Arbor will combine sustainable solutions and intelligent technologies to meet some of the most stringent environmental standards in the world. The building has been certified Platinum by WiredScore, rated Excellent by BREEAM and is set to achieve a Gold WELL Building Standard.

 KONE will deliver six KONE MiniSpace™ DoubleDeck elevators, five KONE MonoSpace® elevators and four KONE TravelMaster™ 110 escalators, all with custom-made finishes. In addition, the building will be equipped with the KONE Destination Control System for reduced waiting and traveling times, KONE InfoScreens to provide sophisticated communications for tenants and visitors, as well as the KONE E-Link™ facility management tool.

“The Bankside Yards redevelopment is an ambitious project that combines modern design and heritage architecture and it will reestablish the area in an impressive way. We have worked hard with the developer Native Land to create a unique people flow experience that helps the building meet the high sustainability requirements. We also worked together on design elements and how to best integrate with the surroundings, which is vital in a prestigious development such as this,” says Thomas Hinnerskov, Executive Vice President for KONE Central and North Europe.

 The building is expected to be completed in August 2022 and it is being developed by Native Land. The main contractor is Multiplex and the main architect is PLP Architecture.

KONE booked the order in the third quarter of 2020.
