KONE Corporation, press release, February 17, 2026

KONE Corporation, a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry, has been awarded a Platinum Medal in the EcoVadis 2025 sustainability assessment. Out of all companies assessed worldwide, KONE now stands in the top 1%. The assessment evaluates sustainability performance in four categories: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. In 2025, KONE's scores improved across all four categories.
"We are honored to be recognized among top 1% of companies evaluated worldwide. This recognition reflects KONE's long-term commitment to climate action, creating a safe and inclusive workplace, and building trust and transparency with the highest ethical standards across its value chain. This is evidence of the dedication of our teams across the world who are working every day to advance sustainability in everything we do - from our products and services to our supply chain and operations", says Kirsi Simola-Laaksonen, Senior Vice President, Sustainability & Environment at KONE.
For KONE, leading its industry also means leading in sustainability. KONE has been a frontrunner in sustainable innovation for decades, pushing for new solutions that lower building's carbon footprint. As an industry pioneer, KONE was the first to set ambitious, science-based climate targets for 2030, and its dedicated efforts are already delivering meaningful and measurable emission reduction results. KONE works closely with its suppliers to drive human rights and decrease the carbon footprint of the materials sourced. Its energy-efficient solutions help customers save energy, reduce emissions, and lower costs.
EcoVadis, one of the world's most trusted business sustainability rating providers, evaluates more than 150,000 companies globally. KONE has been assessed by EcoVadis annually since 2018, with gold or above ratings each year. KONE has been consistently acknowledged by external organizations for its sustainability performance.
