The greenest hospital down under

Opened in 2011, Melbourne's Royal Children's Hospital is Victoria's largest medical complex, with 85% single-patient rooms and twice the research space of the hospital it replaced. Designed for children and families, it features a two-story aquarium and sustainability initiatives that earned it recognition as Australia's greenest hospital.

The redevelopment was delivered through a public-private partnership between the Department of Health, Royal Children's Hospital, and the Children's Health Partnership consortium. KONE was selected to provide solutions that supported both operational and sustainability goals.
