KONE Plans to Sell the KONE Building in Finland

Press Release Published 07/09/2007

KONE is looking to sell its KONE Building in the Keilaniemi business district in Espoo, Finland.

After completion of the KONE building in 2001, KONE moved its corporate offices from Munkkiniemi, Helsinki, to the growing business district in Espoo. The building is currently occupied by KONE’s global functions.

“Since real estate is not part of KONE’s core business, we have started looking into possibilities for selling the building. In that case, our current operations would continue under the new tenancy,” explains Klaus Cawén, Executive Vice President, KONE Corporation.

Located next to the sea in the Keilaniemi business district in Espoo, the KONE Building was designed by Antti-Matti Siikala. The office building reaches up to 72 meters and has become one of the visual landmarks of Espoo. Thanks to its height, glass walls and aluminium structure, the KONE Building characterizes the area’s technology orientation while maintaining it’s presence as architectural monument in the seaside between Espoo and Helsinki.
