KONE Wins Big London Order for Plantation Place in U.K.

Bovis Lend Lease has awarded KONE plc of the U.K. a contract to supply 25 elevators and nine escalators to Plantation Place in the City of London.

Plantation Place will cover approximately 70,000 square feet (6,500 m2) of real estate, making it the biggest footprint in London's financial district. British Land, which has now chosen KONE for five projects in a row, is developing the site. The architects are Arup Associates, and the building will be occupied by Accenture. The 18-floor office block will be served by 20 KONE MiniSpace™ elevators, two KONE MonoSpace® units, three special lifts for passengers with disabilities and nine KONE ECO3000™ escalators. Work is scheduled to begin in February, 2003 and be completed by March, 2004.
