Following our progress with key performance indicators for sustainability

We have defined key performance indicators (KPIs) for each sustainability focus area to follow our progress. Selected indicators support the UN Sustainable Development goals, and these indicators are reviewed regularly by our Board of Directors.

1) The greenhouse gas emissions from our own operations and value chain have been calculated in accordance with ISO 14064 and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard and Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Accounting and Reporting Standard. The Scope 2 emissions have been calculated according to the dual reporting principles of the GHG Protocol Scope 2 Guidance (market- and location-based method).

2) Number of severe and moderate work-related employee incidents divided by the number of total employee theoretical hours worked, multiplied by 1,000,000.

3) Total turnover (11,5%) = Permanent employees + Expatriate leavers (7,315) divided by average headcount in last 12 Months (63,873). Fixed term and Trainee employees (478 leavers) are not counted in the turnover.

4) KONE’s 2021 Code of Conduct e-learning was refreshed and re-issued to all KONE employees globally in 2024.

5) Planned global training was delayed due to Russian sanctions work and COVID-19.
