KONE plc of the United Kingdom has announced plans to build a new facility in Keighley in the North of England that will house a new service/call center, an elevator and escalator training center, and some administrative functions.
The service/call center will become the hub for KONE maintenance of elevators, escalators and building doors in the U.K. Training for both elevator and escalator service personnel will be located for the first time in the same facility, creating important synergies for the U.K. organization. The facility is scheduled to become operational at the end of 2003.
