Stay on Corporate siteKONE has won an order to supply 38 elevators, 22 escalators and 6 autowalks for the five towers of Raffles City Chengdu, a new landmark building in the capital of Sichuan Province.
Altogether, KONE will deliver 19 KONE MiniSpace™ elevators, 12 KONE MonoSpace™ elevators, 6 KONE double-deck elevators, 1 KONE TranSys™ freight elevator, 22 KONE TravelMaster™ escalators and 6 autowalks. Together these solutions will ensure the energy-efficient people flow for the consumers, tourists and businesspeople who will be working, living and shopping in the building complex.
“Energy saving has been a focus area, and our eco-efficient solutions help Raffles City Chengdu to comply with the standards of LEED* certification,” says Pekka Kemppainen, Executive Vice President, KONE Asia-Pacific.
Chengdu Raffles Plaza has been designed by world-renowned American architect Steven Holl and is being developed by Capitaland China. It is the third Raffles City project in China. The complex will host offices, a shopping mall, a five-star hotel, serviced apartments and is scheduled to open in 2011.
The order was booked in Q1 of 2010.
