KONE Wins Order for German Tower

Press Release Published 31/12/2002

KONE's Mid-European Group (MEG), in cooperation with the Major Project Unit (MPU), has booked the order to deliver 17 elevators to the 43-story "Skyper" in Frankfurt, Germany.

This 150-meter tall tower will be built next to the Gallileo Tower, to which KONE is supplying 14 elevators.
Eight of the Skyper units will be KONE Alta™ elevators (four at 6.0 m/s and four at 4.0 m/s). Of the remaining nine units, one is a fireman's elevator based on a KONE MiniSpace™ platform, seven are KONE MonoSpace® elevators, and the final one is a round glass elevator. The elevators will feature KONE Destination Control System (DCS) for improved traffic-handling.
The architect for Skyper is JSK Architects of Frankfurt, and the general contractor is a consortium headed by Müller Altvater. The developer is Deka Immobilienfond, part of the German Sparkasse organization. Installation will begin in October, 2003. Handover is scheduled for the end of 2004.
